Foundry Plant Manager Full Time NEW

Our client is seeking an experienced Foundry Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations with a strong focus on safety, operational performance, financial results, employee development, and continuous improvement. This hands-on leadership role will oversee plant execution while driving accountability across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a culture where employee safety and welfare are the highest priorities.
• Lead day-to-day plant operations and maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.
• Own plant P&L, including annual budgeting, forecasting, standard costs, variance analysis, and capital planning.
• Use an ERP system such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or equivalent to support production scheduling, inventory accuracy, work orders, BOMs, routings, and cost reporting.
• Lead capital and continuous improvement projects from concept through commissioning, managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in on-time delivery, yield, scrap reduction, productivity, quality, and overall plant performance.
• Establish and monitor KPIs covering safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and costs, implementing corrective action when targets are missed.
• Build a strong leadership pipeline through coaching, performance feedback, development plans, cross-training, and succession planning.
• Recruit, develop, evaluate, and hold employees accountable while supporting a strong workforce culture.
• Lead quality and process excellence initiatives and ensure appropriate procedures and controls are followed.
• Develop and support employee training and job certification programs.
• Lead structured problem-solving activities using methods such as DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, and brainstorming.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, business conduct standards, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with leaders across functional areas to achieve organizational objectives.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or 5–10 years of equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in plant operational management or management of a comparable large business segment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, production processes, quality control, costs, and operational improvement.
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management capability.
• Strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets and operating performance.
• Experience using ERP systems to support manufacturing operations is highly valuable.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, monitoring, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain disciplined execution and hold teams accountable to operational plans.
• High level of integrity, dependability, time management, and stress tolerance.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. frequently, and 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to bend, twist, climb, squat, and kneel throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in extreme heat or cold conditions.
• Ability to handle both large and small aluminum extrusions.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $135,000–$162,000. Final base pay will be determined based on factors including geographic location, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
