Geo-Structural Engineer | Rancho Santa Margarita, California Full Time NEW

Our client is looking for a Geo-Structural Engineer to join its growing Structural Engineering Department. You will combine geotechnical knowledge with structural design on public infrastructure and private development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret grading, foundation, and retaining wall plans and draw cross sections
• Determine the most effective wall or structure solution for each site
• Analyze structural and foundation loads and demands
• Evaluate member and foundation capacities
• Develop cost-efficient, code-compliant designs
• Prepare detailed structural plans in AutoCAD
• Compile complete calculation, specification, and plan packages for submittal to reviewing authorities

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with coursework or demonstrated interest in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
• 0 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Passed Engineer in Training (EIT), with the goal of obtaining a PE license
• Proficiency in design and drafting software such as Enercalc, AutoCAD, RISA-3D, LPile, and MSEW
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with keen attention to detail and effective time management
• Self-driven, with the initiative to deliver high-quality work independently and within a team

Preferred

• Master of Science in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license for higher-qualified candidates
• 5+ years of relevant Geo-Structural design and drafting experience
• Project management experience, design, and construction oversight

Pay and benefits

$75,000 – 100,000 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, and role level.
