Civil Engineer – Land Development – PE – Jacksonville, Florida
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their Jacksonville team and contribute to a range of private-sector land development projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Professional Engineer with 7+ years of experience who can take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and project teams, and deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support civil engineering and land development projects from concept through completion.
- Prepare and review site development plans, grading plans, drainage designs, utility plans, and construction documents.
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses related to stormwater, drainage, grading, and site infrastructure.
- Coordinate with surveyors, architects, environmental professionals, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with permitting and regulatory approvals for development projects.
- Review plans and technical documents for accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Communicate directly with clients, municipalities, and project teams.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and other staff.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgets, and client proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 7+ years of relevant civil engineering experience.
- Strong experience with private-sector land development projects.
- Solid knowledge of site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, and utilities.
- Strong understanding of applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
