Civil Engineer – Site & Land Development Full Time
Mountain Lakes / Parsippany, New Jersey
Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer with at least three years of experience in private-sector civil site and land development. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to contribute to a variety of development projects while working closely with clients, design teams, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare civil site plans, grading plans, drainage designs, utility layouts, and related engineering documents.
- Support land development projects from initial concept through permitting and construction.
- Perform site evaluations, engineering calculations, and design analyses.
- Coordinate civil designs with architects, surveyors, environmental consultants, and other project professionals.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, permit applications, and construction documentation.
- Assist with regulatory submissions and agency coordination.
- Review plans, technical documents, and project requirements for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and construction-related activities.
- Manage assigned project tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, municipalities, and internal teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional civil engineering experience.
- Experience with civil site design and land development in the private sector.
- Knowledge of grading, stormwater management, drainage, utilities, and site layout.
- Familiarity with applicable New Jersey regulations, permitting requirements, and design standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
- PE license or progress toward licensure is preferred.
