Experienced Trust & Estates Professional

An established public accounting practice is seeking an experienced tax professional with a strong background in trust and estate taxation. This is an opportunity to take on a key technical role while working directly with closely held businesses, individuals, trusts, and estates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review income tax returns, with a particular focus on trusts and estates.
• Develop into the firm’s primary authority on the taxation of trusts and estates.
• Work directly with clients on tax compliance and planning matters.
• Advise on federal and Illinois tax considerations affecting closely held businesses and individuals.
• Apply knowledge of taxation involving S Corporations, Partnerships, individuals, trusts, estates, and related entities.
• Build upon existing experience to support the continued development of the firm’s trust and estate tax practice.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong experience preparing and/or reviewing income tax returns.
• Solid understanding of trust and estate tax returns.
• Knowledge of recent federal and Illinois tax laws.
• Experience with closely held businesses, particularly S Corporations and Partnerships.
• Strong understanding of individual taxation.
• Ability to work directly with clients and discuss tax matters based on prior professional experience.
