Forensic & Structural Design Engineer Full Time
Our client is seeking a Professional Engineer to join its team as a Forensic & Structural Design Engineer in Webster, New York. This opportunity is well suited to a structural engineer who enjoys investigating existing structures, solving complex technical problems, and developing practical design solutions for a variety of projects.
Salary: $75,000–$110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform forensic investigations of residential, commercial, and other structures.
- Assess structural damage, deterioration, defects, and potential causes of failure.
- Conduct field inspections and document existing structural conditions.
- Analyze structural systems and develop engineering recommendations.
- Prepare structural calculations, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Develop repair, restoration, and structural design solutions.
- Review construction conditions and provide engineering guidance as required.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and other project professionals.
- Apply applicable building codes, engineering standards, and sound professional judgment.
- Manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality and project deadlines.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Experience in structural engineering design, forensic engineering, or structural inspections.
- Strong understanding of structural systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Ability to perform site inspections and evaluate existing structures.
- Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
- Proficiency with structural analysis, design, and CAD software is preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
