Our client is looking for a Geo-Structural Engineer to join its growing Structural Engineering Department. You will combine geotechnical knowledge with structural design on public infrastructure and private development projects.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret grading, foundation, and retaining wall plans and draw cross sections
- Determine the most effective wall or structure solution for each site
- Analyze structural and foundation loads and demands
- Evaluate member and foundation capacities
- Develop cost-efficient, code-compliant designs
- Prepare detailed structural plans in AutoCAD
- Compile complete calculation, specification, and plan packages for submittal to reviewing authorities
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with coursework or demonstrated interest in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
- 0 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Passed Engineer in Training (EIT), with the goal of obtaining a PE license
- Proficiency in design and drafting software such as Enercalc, AutoCAD, RISA-3D, LPile, and MSEW
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with keen attention to detail and effective time management
- Self-driven, with the initiative to deliver high-quality work independently and within a team
Preferred
- Master of Science in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license for higher-qualified candidates
- 5+ years of relevant Geo-Structural design and drafting experience
- Project management experience, design, and construction oversight
Pay and benefits
$75,000 – 100,000 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, and role level.
