Lab Quality Supervisor Full Time NEW

Our client is seeking a Lab Quality Supervisor to oversee laboratory quality processes, analytical integrity, and continuous improvement at its Lab in Viburnum. This role will provide technical and leadership support to an analytical chemistry team while ensuring laboratory procedures and results meet established quality requirements.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with potential weekend rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee data review and validation to ensure analytical accuracy, precision, traceability, and QA/QC compliance.
• Maintain quality records and prepare reports covering performance trends and deviations.
• Develop, update, and maintain laboratory SOPs and QA/QC documentation.
• Conduct or oversee verification testing using certified standards.
• Support method development and test work to improve laboratory accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
• Oversee analytical staff training and conduct performance audits.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and support an effective Quality Management System.
• Perform advanced sample analysis and assist with analytical or procedural troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance related to calibration, instrument performance, and process optimization.
• Maintain EHS compliance through employee accountability, field observations, document reviews, and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement in laboratory quality and safety performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience supporting laboratory processing.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience conducting audits, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
• Working knowledge of analytical chemistry laboratory equipment and operations.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Strong data collection, analysis, and presentation capabilities.
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Advanced problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership skills appropriate for coaching and guiding an analytical chemistry team.

Salary Range: $65,000 – $83,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment

The position requires regular computer and laboratory-related activities and may involve hand tools, personnel carriers, loading/hauling equipment, and work near moving mechanical parts. Personal protective equipment may include respiratory, hearing, and eye protection.

The role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, grasping, pushing, and repetitive hand movements, with occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Concentrated attention, precise hand-eye coordination, three-dimensional vision, and the ability to distinguish colors are required.

Post-offer requirements include successful completion of a drug screen, physical, and background check. Verification of education and employment history and criminal record review will be conducted. A motor vehicle record review and ATF explosives possessor clearance may also be required.
