The Mine Engineer, under the Operations Manager’s guidance, plays a critical role in mine engineering, encompassing mine planning, scheduling, and daily ore control.
Main Responsibilities:
• Design various mine elements like blast patterns, pits, waste dumps, and haul roads.
• Develop and oversee mine plans and schedules with a focus on optimizing short- and long-term objectives.
• Propose solutions to preempt production issues, enhance safety, operational efficiency, and environmental protection.
• Effectively relay mine plans and progress for informed decision-making by management.
• Manage production costs efficiently.
• Collaborate with site and exploration geologists to enhance ore recovery.
• Perform other engineering tasks as assigned.
• Uphold mine site safety and environmental policies and ensure compliance among all personnel and vendors.
• Take part in Planned General Inspections.
• Exhibit safety and environmental leadership through consistent exemplary behavior.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor of Science in Mine Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of open-pit, hard rock mining planning engineer experience.
• 5 years of Surveying experience (preferred but not mandatory).
• Proficiency in mine planning software, with Vulcan expertise being advantageous.
