Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer/Geoscientist – Transportation Full Time NEW

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geological/Geotechnical Engineer or Geoscientist to join its Nashville team and contribute to complex transportation and pipeline projects. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, manage multidisciplinary projects, mentor developing professionals, and collaborate with colleagues and clients across the eastern US and globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as project engineer, geoscientist, and technical lead for transportation and/or pipeline projects.
• Manage project proposals, budgets, schedules, staffing, and scope.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including work in remote or challenging environments.
• Organize and supervise field programs, including geohazard investigations, mitigation design, and construction monitoring.
• Prepare and co-author technical reports and project documentation.
• Provide technical review, mentoring, and supervision of junior staff.
• Work directly with clients, partners, and project representatives.
• Contribute to recruitment efforts for junior and intermediate professionals.
• Participate in business development activities, including identifying opportunities and preparing proposals.
• Support development of innovative technical practices and solutions.
• Travel to other offices and project locations as required.

Candidate Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant professional engineering or geoscience experience, including consulting experience.
• Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Geology, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) registration.
• Technical expertise and project management experience within the pipeline and/or transportation sectors.
• Expertise in one or more relevant disciplines, such as engineering geology, geohazards, groundwater, rock mechanics, soil mechanics, or surface water.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project leadership, client-service, mentoring, and collaboration capabilities.

Candidates with more or fewer years of experience may also be considered at a seniority level appropriate to their experience.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in Nashville, Tennessee. Regular travel to project sites and other offices will be required and may occasionally involve extended shifts at remote locations.
