Requirements include:
- Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) designation in Texas (or ability to transfer).
- Minimum of 5 years in structural engineering, with at least 2 years in forensic investigations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, materials, and design codes.
- Proficiency in forensic methods and tools (e.g., NDT techniques, structural analysis software).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and expert testimony.
- Willingness to travel within Texas for site inspections.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and assess structural failures, defects, and damages in buildings and infrastructure.
- Conduct field inspections, forensic analysis, and engineering evaluations.
- Prepare detailed reports, including root cause analyses, repair recommendations, and expert testimony.
- Collaborate with clients, attorneys, insurers, and contractors on forensic projects.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices.
