Survey Party Chief – DOT Experience Full Time

Our client is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief for projects in Hunt Valley, Maryland and Fairfax, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a field-focused surveying professional with strong DOT experience and the ability to lead survey crews while delivering accurate, high-quality field data.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of survey field crews.
• Perform boundary, topographic, construction, and transportation-related surveys.
• Conduct field surveys for DOT and infrastructure projects.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment and field technology.
• Collect, verify, and document accurate field data.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and survey documents.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other field personnel.
• Ensure fieldwork is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Survey Party Chief or experienced Survey Crew Chief.
• Demonstrated DOT or transportation project experience.
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles and field procedures.
• Experience operating modern survey equipment and technology.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans and construction documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in the field and travel between project locations as required.
