Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer with 5-10 years’ experience to join their engineering firm in Edmonton, Alberta. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting site investigations, analyzing data, and developing recommendations for geotechnical design and construction.
Requirements include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in the Province of Alberta.
• 5-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on site investigations, data analysis, and design recommendations.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, including soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and groundwater flow.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and GeoStudio.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, laboratory testing, and field observations.
• Analyze data and develop recommendations for geotechnical design and construction.
• Collaborate with other engineers and scientists to develop comprehensive project plans.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Participate in project meetings and provide expert advice on geotechnical issues.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
