Job Description and Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and installing machinery and equipment utilizing various tools. Proficiency in reading repair documents, manuals, blueprints, and schematic drawings is essential. Additionally, the ideal applicant should be capable of monitoring and conducting maintenance on work/back up roll bearing using our maintenance management system.
Responsibilities include:
• Troubleshooting and maintaining plant equipment
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring a clean and safe work environment
• Adhering strictly to all safety protocols while performing tasks
Qualifications:
• Certified as Journeyman Millwright/Industrial Mechanic/Heavy Duty Mechanic/Hydraulic Mechanic – IP Red Seal certification preferred
• Proficiency in using various tools like air impact and electric wrenches, pipe fitting tools, hoists, jackhammers, cutting torches, welding equipment
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematic drawings
• Skilled in setting up, dismantling, and rebuilding machinery and equipment
• Competence in using computer programs
• Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational abilities
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
• Basic math skills, with some exposure to geometry and trigonometry being advantageous
Minimum Requirements:
• Successful completion of drug and alcohol testing and pre-employment physical assessments (audiometric testing, vision, strength)
• Clear criminal background check
• Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED
• Availability for 12-hour shifts, including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays
