Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager to join its team in Plantation, Florida. This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level professional who can combine strong structural engineering expertise with project leadership, client coordination, and successful delivery of complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering projects from initial concept through completion.
- Develop and review structural designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and engineering guidance to project teams.
- Coordinate structural designs with architects, contractors, consultants, and other disciplines.
- Review construction documents and resolve technical issues during project delivery.
- Conduct site visits and evaluate existing structural conditions when required.
- Communicate directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide engineering solutions.
- Perform quality control reviews of calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineering staff.
- Ensure projects meet applicable building codes, standards, and professional engineering requirements.
- Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to keep assignments on track.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant structural engineering experience with demonstrated project leadership.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles, codes, and construction practices.
- Experience with structural systems such as concrete, steel, masonry, or other building materials.
- Previous project management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with structural design and analysis software is preferred.
